Our German Shorthaired Pointers excel at both upland and waterfowl and are equally comfortable pursuing grouse and woodcock as ducks and geese. We strive to produce early development, intelligence, calm temperament, bird sense, prey drive, natural honor, natural retrieve on land and water, stamina, and an overall cooperative nature. We are a year-around operation, and through training, guiding, and wild bird hunting are able to fully evaluate our dogs before choosing special candidates for our extremely selective breeding program. We have trained and titled more than 30 master hunters, many from our own stock. We offer custom upland and waterfowl training tailored to each client’s specific needs. Pups, started, and trained dogs are fully guaranteed and make excellent family pets.
We produce early maturing, natural hunting, fine bird dogs. They are easy to handle, foot hunting dogs that will range further in more open areas if permitted. They hold themselves high at both ends and have excellent noses.
We hunt ruffed grouse often during the season. We have found that the best dog for the job is one that will snap on to point at the first sign of scent. A dog that tends to walk in on their birds will spook more of these flighty creatures than not. The dogs quickly adapt to the farms of North Dakota. With a little encouragement, after establishing point, they will track the pheasant and re-point. It's amazing to watch the dog work until we get close enough to flush the bird. |
